I have used the earlier Matisse prints in a custom quilt done in the Attic Windows pattern pictured.
All of the windowsills and sides were done in dark
Amish colors and the lattices and final border were
done in a deep steel blue gray. Photos this coming spring
when the new home of the owner is debuted.
The Matisse prints by Alexander Henry continue to intrigue
me and I am tempted to another with the large outlandish flowers
or unexpected paisleys. Stay tuned.
At the moment a queen sized applique medallion bridal quilt
is in work, alive with lively colors, leaves and vines and
set with intricate pieced borders. The bride will take her
vows this time next year with a large contingent of colorfully
dressed attendants on the Atlantic Shore before a cast of many.
The weather outside is frightful, so sewing in the A/C is
just the thing. Stay tuned for photos of the finished.
