Mastering Machine Applique:
The Satin Stitch/Mock Hand Applique
and Other Techniques
5.0 out of 5 stars Mastering Machine
Applique by Harriet Hargrave
I do very little machine applique, most of
the applique that I do is the by hand variety.
Harriet Hargrave is a go to expert on all
things sewing machine oriented: bobbin
tension, thread, care and maintenance, trouble
shooting, specific needles for specific tasks,
sizes and fineness of stitches, threads,
needles, etc.
Her designs are excellent, the illustrations
are great, and her instructions could not be
more concise and helpful.
Despite the title, this book, the one that
came before it, and those that have come
after, are useful and informative for all
quilters and regular users of sewing
machines.
There is a lot of fluff and junk in quilt
literature. Harriet Hargrave is an expert
and a talented teacher. I highly recommend
her work.
